Urban Gardening
26 April to 7 September 2008
Urban Gardening literally brought the outside in; becoming a ‘living’ exhibition staged in a gallery. Complete with trees adorning the gallery floor and a rotation allotment which saw us harvest our own vegetables (yes really!) this exhibition celebrated the most British of pastimes: Gardening.
Full of practical tips and helpful advice it showed how city dwellers could make a difference to their exterior spaces… from neglected back alleys, humble balconies and high-rise towerblocks…and make the most of their interior ones including how to create your own herb kitchen, worm farm, or simply the best plants to use to brighten up that drab office corner.
Urban Gardening also showed visitors how much fun gardening can be for the whole family whilst tackling serious issues such as climate change.
